LOGAN MICHAEL
NICKELS, PHD
A scientist, communicator, and Research Director living near Houston, TX. I work at Male Contraceptive Initiative and Contraceptive Accelerator Network where I manage a portfolio of internal and external biomedical research programs to provide reproductive autonomy to all who seek it. In the rest of my time I'm a dad and photographer, among other things.
Summary
Fundamentally, science is about answering questions. Practically, it's about improving our collective well-being.
My professional interest lies in connecting these two areas. We can both ask interesting questions that can give us insight into how the world works, and we can do it in such a way that learnings can be prototyped, tested, and applied to improve our livelihood.
That's why I currently work in contraception and reproductive health. With nearly half of all pregnancies unintended, we can provide a better world for individuals - as well as the collective - by providing contraceptive options that allow people of all backgrounds and preferences to have a product that meets their needs.
Accelerating scientific development, removing roadblocks, and asking "why not?" are all part of how I thrive in making progress happen.
These activities are driven by my fundamental truths, philosophies, and skills, which manifest in my personal and professional pursuits.
